Outdoor area rug, stepping onto harsh environments
If you need an outdoor area rug, there are a few issues you should take into account. This isn't the same as choosing an interior rug; the things you should care for are completely different. And the most important one is: what is it made of?
Unlike their indoor relatives, outdoor rugs need to withstand all the adversities of weather and rough use. Water, moisture, extreme heat, freezing cold, and dirt' lots of dirt: is this enough for you to get the picture. Such a rug needs to be extremely 'rugged' (no pun intended) unless you're willing to regularly buy a new replacement. Of course, you won't be looking for this kind of rug in the wool section. You need an all-weather, easy to clean outdoor rug. Sisal rugs are often used to this purpose.
Whether it will be a 'welcoming' mat, or a larger rug to place on your porch, you need it to be able to handle everything it will be thrown at it. Buying a quality outdoor area rug will take your mind off it for a very long time. No matter how hard anyone steps down on it, it will keep doing its job without complaint.
